Sister Kate is a No-Nonsense Nun who is unwillingly sent to take care of a group of Orphans who can't seem to get adopted. Sister Kate, despite having a severe dislike for children, soon realizes that they are not all bad, and is willing to let bygones be bygones.
2 - Freddy's Bad Habit
Air Date: September 21, 1989
Kate goes to extraordinary measures to break Freddy's smoking habit. Neville gets upset when someone wants to adopt Viloet.
3 - Eugene's Secret
Air Date: September 24, 1989
All the kids grumble when Kate pairs them off in bedrooms, but none as much as Eugene, who has a secret reason for not wanting a roommate.
4 - Freddy's Date
Air Date: October 1, 1989
Tomboy Freddy plays a couquette to attract a guy in auto shop, and Neville plays havoc with the peace in his search for an instrument he can play.
5 - Eugene's Model
Air Date: October 15, 1989
April is irked because Eugene picked Freddy to sketch in the buff, and Violet is irked because Neville is spending time with Kate.
6 - Neville's Hired Hand
Air Date: October 22, 1989
Neville is so taken with a vagrant who stops for food that Kate hires him as a cook and handyman , on the condition that he continues to stay off booze that he swears he's sworn off.
7 - Hilary's Date
Air Date: October 29, 1989
Hilary does a masterly job of keeping her wheelchair a secret from a boy she likes; and Neville gives Kate the silent treatment after she upbraids him for his language.
8 - Violet's Friend
Air Date: November 5, 1989
Violet's Imaginary friend comes to visit and has the gang in an uproar. Violet get upset when the others pretend to see her, and she runs away. Sister Kate gets a phone call from a local hospital telling her Violet is there. Violet went to the hospital because that is where she last saw her friend alive. The friends invisible counterpart is how Violet coped with the death.
9 - Kate's Baby
Air Date: November 19, 1989
Kate gets to become a mother - to an infant child abandoned at the orphanage. Meanwhile the kids try to raise 200 dollars to replace a vase they smashed in Kate's office.
10 - Kate's Furnace
Air Date: November 26, 1989
The weather's cold, but feuding Freddy and Todd warm up to each other on a trip to Syracuse to to get a part for the furnace.
11 - The Nun
Air Date: December 3, 1989
Sister Agnes, a temporary resident who has spent 25 years of serenity and silence in a convent, finds old habits hard to keep at Redemption House.
12 - April in Paris
Air Date: December 10, 1989
An upcoming French test becomes April's latest anxiety; and Todd uses an unwitting Hillary in a ploy to attract a salesgirl at the mall.
13 - Father Christmas

Freddy's father Nick pays a visit on furlough from prison. He's no St. Nick, but he makes Christmas memorable.
