Everyone is having a lovely picnic. Zippy daydreams about food and Geoffrey daydreams about when he was a boy. Jane reads a story called 'The Ten Ton Tortoise'. Then she has a daydream and Rod,Jane and Freddy sing "Red Balloon". Bungle daydreams about having a teddy bears picnic.

The Waster

Bungle, Zippy and George waste the spaghetti Geoffrey has made them for their lunch. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Little Tommy Tucker". Bungle, Zippy and George learn not to waste paper. Geoffrey reads the story of "Randall and The Apples".

Geoffrey, Jane, Bungle, Zippy and George act out the nursery rhyme/story of Old Mother Hubbard. Zippy is the storyteller, Jane is Old Mother Hubbard, Geoffrey is Old Father Hubbard and George plays the part of Fido the dog. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing 'Joining the Dots'.

What's Wrong with Bungle

10 - What's Wrong with Bungle

Bungle is behaving very strangely, and isn't talking to anyone. Geoffrey tries to see what's wrong with him. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Out of the Blue". David reads a Tat The Cat story called 'What's Wrong?' Then Bungle feels much better.

George's Secret Place

Bungle's laying out plates and glasses for their tea, but George is missing. George is with his doll Bertie in his secret place. Zippy thinks George has left home, so Bungle zips up his mouth as he thinks hes done it to get away from Zippy's constant chattering. George draws a picture of a flower to put in his secret room and he looks at his collection of shells. Bungle goes to look for him, but cant find him anywhere, but then George returns and everyone wonders where he's been. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "My Secret Room". Then everyone plays eye spy, but George has disappeared again. George goes back to his secret place and reads a story called 'Ferdy's Secret Place'.

Where Does Milk Come From

14 - Where Does Milk Come From

Air Date: November 1, 1985

Bungle, Zippy and George watch a TV programme that shows them how to make a milkshake. Afterwards they decide to make some milkshakes themselves and find out all about where milk comes from. Geoffrey visits a farm and sees some cows being milked and how the milk is transported to the dairy for putting into bottles. Bungle, Zippy, George and Geoffrey sing "I Went To Visit A Farm One Day" and then they find out how milk gets put into bottles at the dairy. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing a song about milk bottles on a doorstep called "Take Us In, Warm Us Up". Zippy and George tell a story about King Geoffrey, Milkmaid Bungle and Daisy the Cow.

Scribbles and Doodles

15 - Scribbles and Doodles

Air Date: November 8, 1985

Bungle wants to draw a picture but can't decide what to draw. He doodles a wiggly line and then turns it into a picture of a worm. George doodles an orange circle and Zippy some green lines on Bungle's picture while he's not around. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing a song about doodling called "Do You Doodle?" Bungle sees his drawing and isn't best pleased that Zippy and George have scribbled on it. Some children doodle and artist Sally Gregory turns their doodles into pictures to tell a story.

Protection

16 - Protection

Air Date: November 15, 1985

Geoffrey, Bungle, Zippy and George are in the garden. To protect himself from the sun, Geoffrey puts on some sun cream, Zippy wears some sunglasses to protect his eyes from the bright sunlight and George has an umbrella to keep the sun off him. Then Bungle puts his rain hat on to keep the sun off his head, but Zippy thinks he looks hilarious wearing a rain hat on a sunny day. Then it starts to rain and everyone goes indoors. They look at a book with lots of pictures of fire fighters and wonder why they wear special clothing such as helmets. Geoffrey explains that it is for protection. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Open Up Your Umbrella" and Bernie Clifton tells a story called "Ben The Clumsy Spaceman".

The Singing Lesson

Zippy's teaching Bungle to sing, but George is sad as he doesn't think he's a good singer, so Alfred comes and teaches him how to sing. Geoffrey dresses up and sings and then Alfred reads a story called 'The Professer's Piano". Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "My Song Has Five Notes". George and Alfred sing "The Rainbow Song" and then everyone joins in.

Zippy is Tongue Tied

20 - Zippy is Tongue Tied

Air Date: December 13, 1985

Zippy's behaving oddly and not speaking to anyone because he's tongue-tied. Denise reads a story called 'Cherp Finds His Voice'. Then Zippy, George, Bungle and Geoffrey go to a concert that some children are performing at the village hall. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Everybody's Tongue-Tied Sometimes". Zippy performs "I Had A Little Nut Tree" and everyone enjoys his little poem and Zippy doesn't feel tongue-tied anymore.

Puff and Blow

22 - Puff and Blow

Bungle, Zippy and George learn about the wind and how it blows things around. Geoffrey is blowing bubbles and Zippy is blowing his toy trumpet. George has a go with Zippy's toy trumpet but can't play it, as he sucks instead of blowing. Later the gang go into the garden and Bungle and Geoffrey build a big sandcastle in the sandpit. Then Geoffrey and Bungle make some patterns on a piece of paper by blowing straws dipped in paint. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "We're Working, Yes, We're Working". Zippy, George, Bungle and Geoffrey act out the story of the Three Little Pigs.

Bungle is not very pleased when Geoffrey walks over the floor he's just cleaned in his muddy boots. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Hopscotch". Geoffrey does a tap dance in his tap shoes then shows Zippy and George other shoes he has for doing different things. Jane reads the story of "Cinderella". Geoffrey, Zippy and George help by playing characters from the story. Jane is Cinderella, Geoffrey is Prince Charming and Zippy and George are the Ugly Sisters. Then the next door neighbour's dog Benji escapes from his garden and runs inside the Rainbow house leaving muddy paw prints all over Bungle's clean floor which he is not best pleased about.

Communication

25 - Communication

Air Date: January 31, 1986

Geoffrey is trying to speak on the telephone, but is having trouble hearing because Bungle is listening to a story on the radio and Zippy is watching his favourite programme on the television. He gets them to turn the radio and TV off and discovers that Bungle forgot to pass on a message that was left for him. Later, George and Bungle make party invitations and George asks Bungle to pass all the crayons. But Bungle mishears and thinks he asked him to parcel up all the crayons. Zippy is sad when Bungle tells him he's not invited to the party. But then Bungle says he was only joking which cheers Zippy up again. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "If You Ever Want To Play A Game". Bungle does a mime, pretending to be a policeman directing traffic. Geoffrey reads a story called "Charlie's News". Bungle, Zippy and George have a treasure hunt in the garden.
