Joey Cutler sees a way out of his gangster lifestyle by taking over a high class restaurant. Meanwhile, his elder brother, Dave, returns from America, and immediately threatens the family empire by throwing the restaurant manager off a balcony to his death.

Martin tries to raise the £6,000 owed to the Cutlers by staging an armed robbery. Dave's wife Yvonne returns from America with their two-year-old son, Eddie. Martine's wedding is overshadowed by an outburst from her father.

Joey tries to prevent Jacqueline from seeing Mike. Dave takes over the running of the restaurant after Rory tries to take his own life. Mickey informs Joey that the police want £25,000 to cover up Dave's involvement in Liam's death.

The son of one of Ted's former associates approaches him asking for help. Joey and Sophie celebrate their wedding anniversary, but most notably, Dave is absent from the celebrations, having found comfort in the arms of Lucy.

The Cutlers find themselves the target of an armed motorcycle gang. When Jean is caught in the crossfire, Joey uncovers a long buried family secret, and Dave becomes hellbent on getting revenge.
