Milton Berle teaches David about comedic timing. Dave gets stuck in the "Hello Deli" without his pants, and Milton takes over the show
3 - Tommy Smothers
Air Date: October 8, 1976
Tommy Smothers wants to do a song and tries to use intimidation to get his way. Meanwhile David gets held-up at gunpoint while visiting the "Hello Deli" and Tommy gets to sing his song in David's absence.
4 - Adrienne Barbeau

Adrienne Barbeau guest stars and Johnny Del Bravo (Martin Short) takes the opportunity to hit on her excessively. Since Adrienne does not want to do a duet with Johnny, Vinnie, who claims that he once dated her, volunteers to convince Adrienne to do the duet.
5 - Ed McMahon

Ed McMahon is upset when Dave does not want to do the "W.C. Fields" sketch as promised. The reason that Dave does not want to doe the sketch is because he is embarrassed to wear the "Little Lord Fauntleroy" costume that is part of the sketch.

It's David's birthday, but he insists that Vinnie doesn't throw a party; he interprets this to mean he wants one. On the show: Scatman Crothers performs an old Western song, and Mason Reese plays a psychiatrist David consults when confronted with a patient who has trouble communicating.
