Peggy and Ruth are barely on speaking terms, Simon becomes isolated even more and the new landlord of the Skelthwaite Arms falls out with The Scorpians.

A new nurse joins the surgery and her fresh approach to the work threatens Peggy and Ruths ways. When a life-threatening emergency happens the new nurse has some hard lessons to learn.

The men go to Whitby on a fishing tip but the only catches they make are on a eventful evening surrounding the local nightlife.
5 - Darkness Follows

A 19 year old who hoped to travel has to face the fact that he now can't because of his failing sight. Ruth and Simon's holiday plans are thwarted.

Dick runs a kid over in his van and Peggy has a problem of her own.

Dick has to face the fact that he killed Gary Kettle. Stephan and Jacqui's romance develops but he makes a big mistake at work. Peggy waits for the results of her scan to come back.

Simon digs up Peggy's back garden as a silver wedding anniversary present while she is on holiday with Vic in the lake district.

A dying woman's family want to protect her from knowing about the seriousness of her condition while Peggy nurses her. A delegation from Denmark arrive at Goddards.
10 - Love

Peggy is concerned when an old flame of Vic's returns to Skelthwaite. Atephan attempts to woo Jacqui but fails and Patricia's old flame comes home from New Zealand.
