On Sunday, the Jeans follow a kidnapping- oops, an elopement. An ice hockey referee denies having hit a player causing a bloody nose in front of the crowd. The commissioner orders Tom to investigate the latest of 12 -usually frequent- deaths in a retirement home; autopsy confirms at least one was a result of poisoning by injection. The Antwerp Zoo director reports repeated vandalism, no break-in.

When Geertrui, a mother, is slashed in her home, Tom concentrates on her husband Renaat. He admits to have had an affair with office colleague Caroline, who went missing. Ruige reports his girlfriend Tess, the daughter of senator Verbesselt, has been missing for a week, but is shamelessly ignored as usual.
